Les Berges de Verdun

Forever my number one. As a proud Verdun local, I truly couldn’t imagine a more ideal setting for photoshoots. Les Berges holds a special place in my heart—with its tall grasses, lush greenery, graceful willow trees, a gentle hill that leads down to the St. Lawrence River, and the peaceful riverside itself, it's a location that feels both cinematic and serene.

And yes, believe it or not—there’s a bathroom on site. A detail that may seem small, but for family sessions (especially with little ones), it’s an undeniable advantage. It’s one of the reasons I so often recommend this park. Beauty and practicality? A rare and perfect match.

If you’d like to explore Les Berges yourself, you can access it easily by parking at the intersection of Fayolle and LaSalle.

And just so you don’t have to take my word for it—I'll be sharing some favorite moments from past sessions captured in this special place.

Parc Régional Des Grèves, Contrecoeur

A little outside the city, but if you enjoy a scenic drive as much as I do, it’s absolutely worth the journey. Parc Régional des Grèves offers many of the same charms as Les Berges de Verdun—with one breathtaking bonus: the sun sets directly over the water.

Nestled along the St. Lawrence River, this location features a peaceful sandy shoreline, open grassy areas framed by trees, and a beautifully wooded entrance that sets the tone as you arrive. Just across Marie-Victorin Boulevard lies an even larger forested area, which I’ve yet to fully explore—but it’s on my list.

A small note: the park also hosts a summer camp, so it’s worth checking the schedule in advance. That said, I’ve photographed here on quiet fall evenings when the space felt almost entirely ours.

You’ll find the park at 10350 Rte Marie-Victorin in Contrecœur, with parking conveniently available on-site.

Montreal's Old Port

This one hardly needs an introduction—Montreal’s Old Port is beloved by many, and for good reason. I’ll admit, I once considered it overrated and avoided it for years, convinced it couldn’t offer anything new. But then came a couple who requested their bridal session there, and of course, I said yes. That’s when I realized I had underestimated its timeless charm.

Montreal can be at the mercy of its seasons—when winter fades into a muddy, leafless limbo, options for beautiful indoor spaces are heartbreakingly limited (don’t get me started on the loss of the Westmount Greenhouses…). And in those in-between months, the Old Port becomes an elegant answer. Its historic architecture remains a stunning backdrop no matter the season.

Yes, it can get crowded in the warmer months, especially around the iconic spots—but with a little patience and a willingness to explore, you’ll discover hidden corners where magic happens.

Located at 333 de la Commune W., Montreal. Street parking is available, as well as multiple indoor lots nearby.

Parc des enfants de la Métairie, Saint-Hyacinthe

If your heart leans toward cottagecore charm and open-field serenity, this little gem is sure to captivate you. With gentle valleys, a quaint wooden bridge, wide grassy expanses, and a quiet sense of intimacy, it offers a surprising variety of picturesque corners despite its modest size.

I’ve only begun to explore its seasonal beauty, but even by late May, the landscape was already lush and vibrant. It became a favorite after just one session—and I have no doubt it will quickly become one of yours too.

Parking is conveniently located at the intersection of Rue des Seigneurs and Avenue Bourdages, though it is on the smaller side, so plan accordingly.
